POLJT 2026 Regulations

Race Rules

These regulations define mandatory conduct for all participants in POLJT 2026. Every runner is responsible for understanding and following these rules to protect fairness, safety, and event integrity.

Core Race Regulations

Enforced on course

Course Compliance

Runners must follow the marked route at all times. Deliberate shortcuts or unauthorized rerouting are prohibited and may lead to penalties or disqualification.

Bib Visibility

Race bibs must be worn on the front outer layer and remain clearly visible from start to finish for identification, timing validation, and marshal checks.

Checkpoint Procedure

All mandatory checkpoints must be completed in sequence. Missing a checkpoint record is treated as an incomplete course unless corrected by official review.

Environmental Respect

No littering, trail damage, or disturbance of local communities and wildlife is permitted. Carry all waste to approved drop points and follow steward instructions.

Support Restrictions

Outside pacing, unauthorized crew access, and unapproved aid between official points are not allowed unless explicitly authorized for safety by race officials.

Sportsmanship

Participants must act respectfully toward runners, volunteers, officials, and residents. Abusive language, aggression, or deliberate obstruction is unacceptable.

Runner Responsibilities

  1. 1

Arrive prepared with required equipment, hydration, and weather-appropriate attire based on your race category and official checklist.

  2. 2

Follow marshal, medic, and checkpoint staff instructions immediately, especially during safety reroutes or emergency protocols.

  3. 3

Respect cut-off times and category limits. Runners beyond cutoff may be removed from course operations for safety and logistical control.

  4. 4

Provide truthful registration and medical details, and report any significant condition changes that could affect your ability to race safely.

  5. 5

Complete post-race check-out or withdrawal reporting so race control can confirm your status and avoid unnecessary search procedures.

Penalties & Disqualification

POLJT officials apply consequences based on severity, intent, and safety impact. Enforcement may escalate through the framework below:

  • Level 1 — Official Warning: Issued for minor first-time procedural breaches that do not create immediate safety risk.
  • Level 2 — Time Penalty or Ranking Adjustment: Applied for repeated non-compliance, missed process steps, or unauthorized support advantage.
  • Level 3 — Disqualification and Course Removal: Enforced for dangerous conduct, route fraud, harassment, refusal of official instruction, or actions that jeopardize others.
